Your tool crib or stores attendants can easily track transactions or take inventory anywhere in your facility, without being tethered to a computer terminal or stationary input device. And they won't have to spend hours on data entry.
Tool crib users can scan barcodes with the touch of a button -- and perform many of the most common dispensing tasks performed with tool crib software packages that cost tens of thousands of dollars. Built on the popular and simple-to-use Palm Pilot platform, the AIM scanner comes with a built-in writing stylus.
After items are scanned, the batch scanner synchronizes with the database (via cable, or wireless where possible).

AIM uses AIM Inventory Software (client/server or web-based AIM Inventory.net). The software features an Intelligent Dashboard with key metrics visible at a glance on one screen. Over 200 reports are preloaded.
How AIM works
To issue an item:
1. The tool room attendant or user simply picks up the unit and touches the type of transaction desired (e.g., Issue or Return).
2. The AIM then prompts for the employee number. The user presses a button to scan the employee's badge. The device can also prompt for cost center data such as department or job number.
3. The attendant then walks to the bin where the requested item is stored, and simply scans the barcode. The system prompts for the quantity to be issued, and the transaction is complete.
4. Whenever it's convenient, the unit can synchronize with the master AIM Inventory database by cable (or wireless where possible).
