AIM Station
Automate attended or unattended cribs or build a runner system
• Automate your existing tool room, crib, or store
• Issue/return tools without an attendant
• Capture transaction before unlocking door to crib
• Use at remote locations in a "runner system"
Tool room automation
You can quickly and easily convert your manual tool crib to a virtual dispensing machine, with AIM Inventory AIM Station. Just designate an existing tool room, tool crib or stores area as a tool crib, using AIM Inventory Software. Install an AIM Inventory’s AIM Station at the crib window — and now, tool crib attendants or users perform the data entry using a touch screen. After the user selects the desired items, a receipt with bin locations is printed to assist the attendant or user in locating the items within the secured area.
Tool requests at remote locations
You can also place AIM Stations at various locations or remote work cells throughout a plant to create a "runner system". Users enter tool or supplies requests at the AIM Station. The central tool crib prints out the order, and issues and delivers the requested tool by a runner (at lower cost), while keeping the operator at his work center.
Access control, cost and usage reporting, plus complete purchasing and receiving system
AIM Station uses AIM Inventory Software (web-based AIM Inventory.net or client/server software). The software features an Intelligent Dashboard with key metrics visible at a glance on one screen. Over 200 reports are pre-loaded.
How It works — tool room automation
1. Select the desired function on the touch screen or keypad (Issue, Return, Locate, etc.).
2. To issue an item from the tool crib, enter an employee number and pin number. The user can also be prompted to enter cost center data, such as department or job number, if applicable.
3. Select the item desired. The User can enter the part number or name of the item desired, and then select the item from a list. A photo can also be viewed to confirm the correct item has been selected.
4. The user selects the quantity desired. At this point, the crib door can be unlocked by the system. A receipt with bin numbers is printed to assist in locating the items.
5. To return an item, enter an employee number and pin number. A list of items to be returned by that employee appears. Select the item to be returned.
6. All transactions are recorded in the AIM Inventory database in real-time
How AIM Station works — runner system
1. Users can place orders for tools or supplies from remote locations.
2. The orders print out in the tool crib or stores area, prompting attendants to select requested items.
3. Runners can then deliver items on a scheduled basis.
4. Receipts can also be printed, providing written document for every transaction that occurs.
